Canary Wharf Muslim Association [WharfMA] presents:

JUZZ 30 - SURAHs 78 - 114

with Ustadh Hafiz Abdullah Muhammad*

Date: Tuesday 11th June 2013
Time: 6pm - 8.30pm
Venue: Idea Store Canary Wharf, Churchill Place,
Canary Wharf, London E14 5RB

Insha Allah we will complete our study
of the ‘Journey Through the Quran’ Course by doing
an overview of all the 37 Surahs in Juz (part) 30
of the Holy Qur’an known as ‘Juz ‘Amma’. These are
among the shortest Surahs of the Qur’an and are almost
wholly revealed in the earliest stage of the Prophet’s
mission in Makkah. Their style is highly poetic with
vivid imagery and direct address to the individual to
‘wake up’ and respond to the final Divine Call. They
largely deal with similar themes of unity of Allah,
truth of the claims of the Holy Prophet (SAW) and
the Qur’an and the inevitability of accountability
in the Hereafter. These Surahs are among the most
frequently learnt, memorised and recited Surahs of
the Qur’an as Muslim children begin the study of the
Qur’an with Juz ‘Amma and most Muslims frequently
recite from these Surahs in their daily prayers as
well as memorise a lot of the shorter Surahs by
heart for use in their prayers..

In this final session like with all previous monthly Journey Through the
Qur’an series, we will examine the history, structure
and guidance provided in these Surahs and its
contemporary relevance.
